Nestled in between the Aravalli Ranges, this lake was constructed by Maharaja Vinay Khan in the year 1845. The lake spreads over an area of 7 kilometers, and it was mainly built because of the scarcity of water. Just above the lake is the beautiful Siliserh Palace which is said to have been built by the king for his wife Shila. The Siliserh Lake is at a distance of 18 kilometers from Alwar. The Siliserh Lake Palace or the Siliserh Lake is mainly surrounded by forest. The place also witnesses a lot of Migratory birds during the winter season, which makes it a favorable time to visit. The lake is said to have crocodiles in it, so be ready to spot a few of them, and definitely stay at a distance.

The Palace is now a heritage hotel, and one can go and visit the place whenever they want to. Even if you don't wish to spend the night at the palace, you can stay there for the day. The Feeling wouldn't be any less than living in a castle that is disconnected from the rest of the world. The lake looks still, placid and glassy. There won't be many ripples to see, other than the ripples caused by the inhabitants of the lake.
Boat-riding is also available there if you wish to take a ride through the lake. Taking a boat ride, and looking upwards and seeing the Aravallis protecting you, will make you feel like you have been transported to ancient times.
